SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENCE

Upper East Side, Manhattan, New York

INTERIOR & EXTERIOR RENOVATION

An 1893 Italianate style townhouse in the Treadwell Farm historic district on the Upper East Side was fully renovated and a 600 sq.ft addition was added to the rooftop.

A passenger elevator and roof deck were added, three rear glass sliding doors were installed and the rear balcony was extended.

The townhouse was previously subdivided into a work/live space with an office on the first two levels and bedrooms and kitchen on the 3rd and 4th level.

The new townhouse is converted back to a residential use for a young family with the kitchen, playroom and entertaining level on the 1st and 2nd (parlor) floor with the bedrooms and bathrooms occupying the 3rd and 4th levels.

The new addition features a walk in closet, guest room, bathroom and study.

With new white oak chevron floors throughout, American walnut mill work, marble, and modern glass sliding doors - the newly renovated interior marries the client’s  contemporary style with that of the traditional moldings and proportions of a late 19th century NYC townhouse.
